Sustainable Coffee Project Updates
- Update #1 – This is a Sustainable Coffee ProjectYou are reading the very first Sustainable Coffee Project update! As part of the development team, I am committed to documenting and reporting on the latest achievements of this coffee & carbon initiative, that has a history spanning more than two decades.
- Update #2 – Drones, Soil Analysis & Choice SurveyAs coffee production continues to threaten Earth’s remaining high elevation forests, this year is proving to be an exciting one for Global Coffee Solution because we now have boots on the ground and drones in the sky!
- Update #3 – Drone Maps & Research StudiesDespite the recent bad news that many coffee projects have lost critical funding and future finance opportunities due to the recent shut-down of USAID, we push forward with our work on the Global Coffee Solution and are excited to be sharing these positive updates.

- Exciting News Featuring A Very Special PersonToday I’m thrilled to share that the amazing Dr. Jane Goodall, PhD, DBE, Founder – Jane Goodall Institute & UN Messenger of Peace is actively helping bring global awareness to our sustainable coffee program, Global Coffee Solution.
- Coffee & Forest Project, Eh?Coffee has a major carbon footprint that centers around deforestation. Coffee farms are replacing forests and it’s been widely published that coffee production would need to triple by 2050 to keep up with the growing demand. Enter: Integrated Open Canopy Coffee Farming
- My Job as a Video GameSometimes my job feels rather epic. So much so, that I was inspired to take some of our research and turn the data into a quest! Coffee and the Wild is a new, imagined video game about saving forests using sustainable coffee production. And it contains a few subtle nods to the incredibly popular video game, Breath of the Wild.
- Pitch for Sustainable CoffeePitching sustainable coffee to the business world is difficult and complicated. For starters, pitching any type of real sustainability to an industry built on a history of extraction and exploitation is a double-edged sword. For one, it’s needed badly — which is great for pitching! On the other hand, it’s expensive — which is awful for pitching!
